Life has been interesting. Especially now. As I make a public journal directed at no one in particular, and most likely not to be read by anyone in particular. A leave of absence. Thats what I'm calling it. First, and most recently from school, and second from DA. I suppose I may try and start posting new stuff. I've done a lot of work- better work- and I haven't uploaded but 2 images in who knows how long.
Photography is a very interesting way of capturing life as it happens by. I've been doing a lot of thinking about how and why I do it. I've also devolved to film- a change which itself has helped me in great strides in just a short amount of time. For anybody who cares- the gallery is going to be empty, until I can go through ALL of the photos I have taken and cherry pick them. One thing I've learned is it is best only to display your best. Everything else should be shredded and tossed into a garbage can, never to see the light of day. Also photographic integrity is something I'm trying to improve upon. I've passed off some photos as 'real' that should have been photomanipulations. I've scolded myself quite a bit lately for that. I'm sure there are very very many people who consider themselves photographers out there that are really just manipulators, using the image they've taken as a good starting point for their creation- as opposed to a real photograph, the creation itself.
And to all the people with really nice equipment and really shitty photos- fuck you.
To all the people who have the right equipment, but blame it for bad photos- fuck you, too.
For all the guys and gals who go out and take good pictures, and don't give a flying fuck what they are holding onto as long as it works. Y'er okay in my book.
